  1. Definitely. If you think he only shoulder charges then you've only been watching him on youtube. SBW is the complete package (apart from kicking). He can off load, pass, bust tackles and tackle. pretty much everything a rugby player needs to do. I think he would best be suited in the midfield where he could set his wingers up and solve our midfield crisis!!!

  2. yeh if he wasnt out due to injury all the time he probably would of been a success in league...

  3. Not as a forward. The forward play is very different and only a few have successfully transitioned as a forward - and that was from a union background to league. Ray Price, Brad Thorne and to a lesser degree Wally Lewis who i believe played lock for 1978 Australian Schoolboy side - as Mark Ella was the 5/8.  I can't think of any one with a League background tranistioning across to union succesfully as a forward. Tackles are different, it is more a grapple to turn the player so the rest of the forwards can go over, scrummaging skills, line outs - I can go on.

When I read about it I actually though the only viable position he could play was probably outside center. That way he can line up the opposition backs to tackle, or will only be running at the backs so he could offload if he stayed on his feet, and set up the wingers by drawing more defence toward him.

  4. yup i rekon he wud - he certainly has the ability and right attitude for it - the dude cud apply himself to any number of team based codes and be a success in any of them.

He cud also get a h**l of alot more exposure and line his bank account quite handsomely doing endorsements/ commercials etc as union has a bigger audience - just look at Daniel Carter - he does very very well with jockey and a few other brands.

Just can picture sbw in a g-string - wow!

  5. No way in the Worls could SBW be successful in union. The only reason he is a good league player is because he has the freakish ability to offload the ball when ever he gets the ball and that isn't as important for someone who plays union. It's only an added bonus. Plus there is the limited amount of space you get to defend in, No one ten meters behind the line they are straight on you and your also up against 14(Minus the Fullback) in the main line in defence where as in league it can be down to eight people if the wingers and fullbacks are back and the markers are are a long way away from you.

  6. Yes of course but he wont be as popular because he wont be able 2 do his trade mark shoulder charges

  7. No way, the only thing he does well is shoulder charges. Can't do that in union.
