Would sirens go off in fire trucks and ambulance if a person is already dead??

seen ambulance and fire truck go down my street, no sirens, no cops either. they was there for bout 5 mins, and left. dunno any other reason y they'd come down our street. just wonderin

  1. Could have been a prank call, it'd be longer if they had actually found something usually.


  2. i noe right because theres kinda no poin in rushing back but i would say yes maybe they can save them somtimes

  6. The call  comes for a possible dead person, we still run with lights and siren for the call. Most of the time the patient is still breathing.  If the call is cancelled while responding, we shut the lights and siren off or we may of been on a dry run.  In my community, by request,  lights only are used and siren or blast horn  only as needed to let vehicles in front of our approaching equipment to pull to the right so that we can pass.  This has worked very well and keeps the public out of our way and being disturbed, especially at night.

  7. The rule of thumb is if the person has died then they will not use their sirens........
