Would slices of ham in a sandwich spoil if they have been in a ziplock bag for 5 hours?

I forgot to refrigerate it this morning and I am ready to eat it for lunch now.

Any meat product not refrigerated for that length of time will likely have developed bacteria, especially if kept in a sealed plastic bag providing the perfect environment...warm moist atmosphere for them to develop. Thats why supermarkets have a 'cold chain' procedure where products are not meant to be out of the refrigerator for more than 20 minutes between backroom and shelf.

meat is always breeding bacteria unless it is frozen.  even when its in the fridge, bacteria is growing.  when the meat is left at room temp. this process increases.  so its not like when you leave the meat out, a switch is flipped after X amount of hours and the meat is all of a sudden spoiled.  It is a slow process before the meat gradually develops enough bacteria to get you sick.  Most restaurants use the safe food handling guidlines of not leaving food out for more than 4 hrs.  but will you get sick from ham left out for 5? probably not.

Not likely & probably still good as they are well preserved with lots of sodium, but if it smells bad, tastes bad or is a bit slimey, even a little, toss it.

Well has the ham been in the fridge while it was in the bag. If it hasnt, dont eat the ham. Its not worth it.

Dont get food poisoned for just stupid ham.

If you are that hungry, jus buy a hamburger instead from mcdonalds. Or if you know how to make it. well i doubt it. jus make it youself and you will save money, not havin to spend 2 pounds on a hamburger in mcdonalds.

No problem but it has been days since you posted this question so if you haven't eaten it.  Throw it away fast.

It all depends on the temperature around the sandwiches but, if there is a smell on the ham then you shouldn't it .  If f it doesnt give off an unpleasant smell then they should be fine.

It should be ok for only five hours.  If it would have been days then you have to throw away.
