Would someone care to enlighten me on the superstring theory?

What major variations are there between the string theory, and the superstring theory? Or are there? I have not really delved into the string theory yet but I'm hoping to study it soon.

  1. *waves  at mary* Superstring theory is an attempt to explain all of the particles and fundamental forces of nature in one theory by modelling them as vibrations of tiny supersymmetric strings. It is considered one of the most promising candidate theories of quantum gravity. Superstring theory is a shorthand for supersymmetric string theory because unlike bosonic string theory, it is the version of string theory that incorporates fermions and supersymmetry.

  2. The bunk that has tied civilian physics' hands behind its back for nearly half a century while the government/military establishment has made great strides with much better theory. Unfortunately, you will find this out soon, and your denial will make you scream that that it just has to be extraterrestrial in origin as the 4th Reich known as the New World Order arises!

  3. string theory gets rid of point particles with no definite size and therefore blots out quantum fluctuations that make bridging the gap between quantum mechanics and general relativity impossible.

  4. Superstring Theory is short for "Supersymmetric String Theory".

The alternative to Superstring is Bosonic String theory.

The basic difference between the two is that Superstring takes into account differences between particles that differ by only one half spin. It is currently unclear if supersymmetry really exists.
