I had a tennis class yet I still don't quite understand. I understand scoring up to deuce, but after that I'm lost.

  1. When the game gets to duece, the next point gives the winner an ADVANTAGE. To win the game, the player with the advantage needs to win one more point, and he'll get the game. If he's on advantage and he loses the next point, the score's tied down to 40-40 each again. I hope you understand!

  2. After deuce, a "win by two" rule is followed. The player that leads after deuce (since there is no numerical equivalent) is said to have the "advantage".

  3. Let's begin at deuce then..... the player who wins the first point after deuce has an advantage, because at deuce, you must win 2 consecutive points to win a game.  If the player with the advantage wins the next point, then they win the game.  If the player without the advantage wins the next point, then the score goes back to deuce.  repeat as necessary until one player wins 2 consecutive points.

  4. hit to the personne on the diagonal. carry on till someone loses the point. its starts 0:15, 0:30 duce then match point. then after match point you swap servs. hope this helped

  5. To put it in the simplest terms

-4 points in a game (at deuce a player must win two consecutive points to win the game)

-6 games in a set ( the only way to win a set is to win a game while returning and always hold your own serve. If a set goes to 6/6, a first-to-seven-points tiebreak is played)

-Best of 3 sets in a match (i.e. 6/4 3/6 6/1. Also, a super tiebreak that is played as first-to-ten-points can be played instead of a third set in high school tennis)

Good luck. Hope you can decipher it! :)

  6. so if you know up to deuce, i think the next part is the easiest :)

    okay, so deuce is 40-40

the next point is either add in, or add out. now that depends on if the server gets the point of not.

if the server gets the next point, it's add in, because she's the one serving. if the non-server gets the point, it's add out, becasue the server didn't!

so you have to win by 2 points on a deuce so it would have to be:

    40-40

Add in--(40) but you don't have to say that

    and then game

But if let's say you win the point and then the other person wins the next point it goes back to deuce:

    40-40

    add in

    40-40

    add out.....

and so on until you win 2 points in a row! good luck!

wow that's more complicated than I thought :)
