  1. No TKD suxs with krav. bjj or muay thai would be tons better

  2. Taek Won Do teaches you martial art techniques, and has its' own set of rules. While krav maga aims to teach you how to disarm your oponent and deal with real life situations.

Taek Won Do also tries to teach you how to deal with real life situations (like when someone attacks you with a knife or something), but it is really more of a body an soul art.

I would also assume there is not as much contact involved in Taek Won Do as there is in Krav Maga.

To summarize, I would think that comparing Krav Maga and Taek Won Do would be like comparing Judo and Karate, meaning both have their advantages, but differ from each other in many aspects.

Another point of difference is that you could say that Krav Maga is not really a sport, while Taek Won Do is.

In my opinion it wouldn't hurt knowing both combat methods.

  3. It depends.

Are you talking about the "Sport" Tae Kwon Do or the actual

    combat Tae Kwon Do.

Are you concerned with Street Combat or sports orientated?

Actual Combat Tae Kwon Do is good, this is what it was meant for.

Sport Tae Kwon Do will get you killed in a street situation.

  4. teakwondo rocks its the bomb

  5. It really depends on your goals. Krav Maga is more or less a functional fighting style whereas Tae Kwon Do is a sport and traditional martial art. While you can "functionalize" (make the art more realistic through experimentation/application) your TKD training, it may be counter-productive or even redundant to what you are learning in Krav Maga.

If you feel that your Krav Maga training is missing something, you may want to consider other functional arts (I know more than a few experienced martial artists not too jazzed with it). However, if you want to stick with Krav Maga and add to your kicking and striking game, I would strongly recommend Muay Thai/Thai Boxing. The kicks and knees are of the most powerful found in any art, and even though Muay Thai is primarily taught as a sport, you can easily functionalize it by adding dirty tactics and kicking low.
