Would the D day invasion have been successful if Rudolf Hess wasn't captured by the British?

He was the second in command after Hitler. Could he have ordered the panzers to counterattack the D day invasion if Hitler was asleep? Did he have as much power over the n***s as Hitler to have authorized the panzers deployment?

Hess was never a real number two: That was Hermann Göring´s role.

Hess was absolutely unimportant by all means. He  was not in command of even the smallest army unit. He held no power whatsoever. Even the lunatic Hitler believed Hess was a bit crazy.

No, while the Panzers certainly would have a made a huge difference for the Germans the fact is that Hess didn't have that kind of power.  Only Hitler had the authority to order the Panzers to Normandy, he was sleeping when the invasion started and everyone around him was afraid to wake him.  It would have made no difference if Hess hadn't been captured.  Hess spent the rest of his life in Spandau prison for most of that time as the only prisoner there until he died in 1987, some say it was suicide others say he was murdered.

The panzers were a problem because Hitler did not heed Rommel's advice to keep them nearer to the coast, which meant that they were not in position.  

Additionally, the allies had a great deal of planning to ensure a successful invasion (almost putting their eggs all in one basket).  False radio reports for the Germans to hear, a fake military outpost set up to redirect attention away from Normandy, specialized machinery to help make easy landing and destroy enemy positions...

  Hess did nothing for the allies (or at least nothing they needed) and if he was there it would likely have not made a real impact.

I think you mean the invasion of Britian. Also Hess was trying to make an alliance with the Brits. At one time he was the third man in charge. Hitler even did not want him to do the mission. Hess was in prisoned and later killed in a plane crash with a British Duke. They may have been going to Sweden to negotiate a peace treaty with Germany. Hess was captured in 1940 or early 1941 i think
