  1. The Japanese royal family has an entourage of experienced chefs at their disposal.  Unlike other royals, this modest family enjoys their privacy.  The citizens of Japan respect their emperor's wishes, so very little is known about the personal lives & habits of the Japanese royal family.

Fugu is the only delicacy officially forbidden to the Emperor of Japan.

  2. It is said that they do not have luxury meals.

I heard that the Queen also cook for her family by herself.

  3. The Japanese Royal Family is very private and little is known of their eating habits(or anything else).  Some of the younger members, like Princess Masako, have been known to eat extravagantly in public and have been severely criticized by the Japanese public for this.  They consider it bad manners and "showing off".
