  1. I'm not sure that they would have.  This is a rebuilding year in Montreal, and the Als don't have as much talent as they did in past seasons.  Wasn't the team 7-7 when Matthews stepped aside last year?  He may be a good coach, but he's not a miracle worker.


  2. of course they would have, the coach they have right now couldnt lace up matthews shoes...........hes a horrible coach....matthews would not have made the same mistakes as this guy has.

    That being said, they probably wouldnt have finished first anyway, with the team they have.

    But matthews would have made a huge diff.

  3. Defintitely.  He is one of the greatest coaches in CFL history.

Als have been plagued by injuries which has been their biggest issue,  They also have had a tendancy to shoot themselves in the foot by doing dumb things at bad times.  Could Matthews have made a difference?  I don't think so, he can't play and there's little doubt that the talent Als are using to fill in are not good enough.
