  1. No, they can't even bail out their citizens within the borders of SA, let alone in another country.

  2. No i don't think they would

  3. I don't think they would...

Their citizens are killed here on a daily basis and they are powerless..

  4. You hear of many cases where the government indeed try and rescue its citizens. It seems if it is long process though but lets give the government its due because they will help if needed.

  5. I know a lady who dated a Nigerian & married him. Unfortunately the husband died & she went to Nigeria to bury him. It was her first visit there & her late husband's friends tried to stop her from going yet she insisted. When she got there, her in-laws held her captive because they accused her of killing their son. It was terrible. Th SA Embassy had to intervene.

  6. What happened of Kallie and Monique Strydom a few years back in the Philippines? If I recall correctly, the South African government refused to negotiate a settlement for their release in monetary terms but they were able to ensure a diplomatic release, they were negotiating with fellow terrorists and militants as would probably again be the case should any South Africans in future be abducted.

  7. No I do not think so, I just cannot see them doing it, they should look at Israel and try to follow the example set by the Israelis, they would start a full scale war just for one soldier.
