Would the Triumph Street triple be a good first motorcycle for me, i am 5'11'' and weigh 250?

Probably not, this is a high performance bike and you will irresistibly twist the funny thing on the right handlebar and go forward wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to fast. With out skills you'll then see an object, cement truck, pedestrian , good humor van and stop by death grip on brakes. This will only high side you and cause an trip to the emergency room. There's time, work up. Get a less potent bike for first ride.

No, there is a learning curve on big bikes.  Start with something small and live to ride a big bike when you have the ability to ride one.

Respect it and you can ride any bike. I've ridden 600's and 1000's supersports and I'm only 19.

It all depends on your financial situation, riding expereience, etc. Yes, the street triple is a great bike with it's sharp inline 3 cyl. and yes it sounds amazing.

You're big enough for just about any motorcycle.

I think this Triumph is a bit too much bike for a beginner to handle -a dynamite bike,  but not a good one to learn on.

They are wicked nasty in the rain.
