Would the beach rly give a better tan than my backyard? why?

why do people prefer to tan at the beach? i was wondering if the sun is really stronger at the coastline, or if it is just the same sun strength as my backyard at my house? could i get a better tan at the beach, or laying outside at my house?

Because of the cooling wind .People stay much longer in the sun

also the reflection of the water intensifies the suns rays .

You tan the most on a small boat.

The tan will be the same, at home or at the beach.  People don't prefer to tan at the beach, they prefer to be at the beach, how do you know they don't also tan at home?  The beach is so great you can swim when you get hot, besides anyone can be at home, but being at the beach is a real treat!

Reflection from the sand and water will intensify the sun's UV rays and cause you to either sunburn or tan quicker,, but not necessarily better.
