Do not use any home treatment on a hamster involving Listerine! You can use topical Ivermectin, but check in with your vet first.

The only effective and safe mite treatments for hamsters are medications like Ivermectin or Revolution.  These can both be obtained from a veterinarian who will accurately weight the hamster, calculate a correct dosage, and give it to the hamster in the correct way.

No treatment with Listerine would be safe.
