My car's insurance expired not too long ago and my friend recently borrowed my car and got pulled over. He was issued a $500 citation for being uninsured. Would this affect me in anyway?

  1. its questinable. possibaly but i dont think you will. inmy state it the drivers fault for not checking  for insurance.  I got stop once in my uncles exsplore and he did not have his insurace card in it so i got like 750 dollare ticket and ten days to fax profe of insurance to the state.

  2. Yes they will get to you and why not have insurance. It would have been cheaper than what your going to pay now. Really dumb.

  3. You could be.  When they pulled the registration of the car and seen it was not his, they would have asked for ins.  When he goes to court, which I am sure he probably will, they will ask for proof of ins. and then that's where you will be dragged in since its your car.  SO the answer to your questions is yes.

  4. In the UK the owner of the vehicle would be prosecuted for permitting uninsured use.
