Would the ps3 run better vertical or horozontal, will playing it vertical run down the graphics?

Will it run any different vertical, also please tell the same with the xbox 360, leave good comments and thanks?

Wont affect at all but its better to put it horizontal cause if it accidentally fell a part could get damaged and some people dont have the space to put it vertical. And I always thought its impossible to put a disc in when its like that. Could be dangerous. But performance is not affected.

There is no difference in performance between horizontal and vertical positions. The PS3 is slightly cooler in the horizontal position, and there is less chance of it falling that way, so I always keep it laying down.

The xbox 360 is basically the same, however moving the 360 while it is playing a game could potentially scratch the game disc. I always keep my electronics horizontal because they are sturdier that way.

According to thermal images, horizontal position keeps PS3 a bit cooler. Position and graphics aren't related LOL. As for 360 - it overheats anyway in any position.

I hate to break this to all you horizontal buffs, but the unit cools much better in the vertical position, because heat rises, and the blu ray player generates the most heat, it's closet to the vent side, and when you have it vertically, that heat escapes 1st. thus keeping the unit MUCH cooler... the front vents are the INTAKES, therefore causing heat to build up in the core,  VERTICAL is the best way to cool it.

Having your PS3 either horizontal or vertical won't impact performance. But if you have over heating in mind some Japanese guys did a thermal imaging test and the heat distribution was better with the PS3 Horizontal. I may be stating the obvious here but if you do have you Ps3 vertical make sure your fan is not being obstructed (I.E the fan is at the bottom meaning it can't get the heat and thus your PS3 will overheat)

The position your PS3 is in doesn't affect the performance of it at all, the problem here is overheating.

Having the PS3 in a Horizontal position is much better for it compared to the vertical postion, as the heat is more distributed in the horizontal position.

Also, don't place the PS3 on a carpet ( it increases it's chance of overheating), and keep it in a well-ventilated place.

Not to mention, it's much harder for it to tip and possibly break over if it's horizontal, obviously.
