  1. If He had come in this day as He did back then, He would still be rejected by most people who consider themselves to be religious, whether they be Hebrews or Christians.

One unique thing about when He came to this world around 2000 years ago: the religious Hebrews turned Him over to the Gentiles to be executed. He did not reach out to the Gentile population UNTIL the Hebrews turned Him over to them. This was how redemption and salvation became available to us Gentiles.

  2. Nope, He's coming back in full power and glory. Really its all happening now, so-called Christians are losing their faith and turning away from Him, but He will turn on them on that Great Day of God's Anger.

  3. Yes, the same thing all over again.

  4. probably

  5. who cares.

  6. I have this recurring image of Jesus returning in disguised form and all the fundamentalist Christians wanting to string him up for being too liberal.  He probably wouldn't fit their definition of a "true Christian."

  7. He is still not recognized in Israel, that is why the anti-christ will be able to deceive them.

So yes, if he came in like manner, the result would be the same.

  8. Most  would  turn  against  him, but  we who  know  Jesus

would not  because  he  is  our  Savior and  sheperd

and his  sheep  know  his voice.

  9. Well if Jesus came back, then I guess it would turn out as the Bible describes, because that would automatically validate the words of scripture.

  10. I think people would embrace his ideals once more, but if someone went around saying he was the son of God, well he would:

    A) Get shot

    B) Be deemed crazy

    C) Spark a new wave of religious craze

  11. / It will all be cleared up, when Jesus comes back again.

He will take followers with Him, and those who didn't believe He was the son of God will know for sure that He is.  Unfortunately, it will be too late for them because they had plenty of time and reason to believe.

Before that, there will be other events - many of them already have occurred.

  12. I think the Fundies would be the first one's yelling "crucify him!", or in this case, "execute him!"  You can bet that we Buddhists wouldn't be calling for his blood.

  13. If Jesus came back, he would either be locked up in an asylum for claiming to be the 'son of god' or the Christians would publicly condemn him for being a witch.

  14. Are you so SURE it happened the first time? Does it not strike you as a little odd that outside of the Gospels, there is scant mention of "Jesus" as an historical reality, and the details of His life as told in the New Testament bear an astonishing resemblance to various other myths that are far older (Mithra, for example, was supposedly born to a virgin in a cave in Bethlehem, and three wise men from the East bought gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh to him 1500 years or so BEFORE Jesus was born...).

  15. Well if he thinks the freaken flock is bound to turn against him the next time around he has the power to turn the freaken flock into a bunch of freaken sheep and that's not so freaken baaaad is it?
