Imagine there's no countries

It isn't hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion too

Imagine all the people

Living life in peace...

  1. Yes. The world would be a lot better without one or a few people's ideas on governance and different means of doing so i.e. religion, states, and so forth.

Really would like to give a longer answer but running late.

  2. Yes.

    Ting!  Next, please.

  3. impossible but in irony that's what everyone is fighting for especially in religions.

  4. R.I.P. John Lennon October 9th 1940 - December 8th 1980. We all love and miss you.

  5. alot of people would suffer alot less without religion but people will always find something to argue about

  6. ABSOLUTELY!!!!

How I wish I could get Lennon's thoughts on the world today.

  7. Stay dead, John Lennon.

  8. everyone thinks that just because there are radicals in certain religions then ALL religions are bad. thats just stupid its the same as stereotyping; Christianity for example doesnt promote killing or violence no matter what the situation so any true believer of Christianity wouldn't cause war or any of that.

plus even without religion there is always something to fight about; i don't understand why people think that if there was no religion then poof there'd be no war. no religion doesnt mean no emotions and everyone will feel jealousy, hate and rage which sparks some to do violent things to others. this doesnt have to come to religion, it could come from something that was said to another person or maybe someone is insanely jealous of what someone else has

bottom line, its not religion but the nature of the person that affects how bad this world is.

  9. Far better.

  10. Pardon the irony, but heavens no. Not today. Maybe at some future time when man's intellect has caught up with his abilities to do harm, but not today.

At this time in history we need religion to protect us from god-fearing people -- people whose morality is dependent upon the belief that there is a wrathful God somewhere who'll send them to h**l if they do what they feel like doing.

  11. It would be a world without human rights and weaker treated like animals. Pretty much like in WW2 (Hitler) and USSR (Stalin).

  12. did u forget what happened in the days of noah-disobediance to god created people living sinful  and wicked lives -no thank u - i like having faith in the lord and trying to do the right thing-peace

  13. Religion is defined in the Concise English Dictionary as:

"The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods"

On that basis any person who worships God can be said to have religion irrespective of whether they want to align themselves with the political aspects of religion. On this basis I say no - the world would not be a better place without religion.

It was people who worshipped God who started the National Health Service, brought about the abolition of slavery, founded universities, commenced the pursuit of science and many other things.

More recently and more personally... A friend of mine was recently put in jail overnight in Malawi (trust me that is not good conditions) for being the last key-holder of a place that was broken into. There was no evidence against him and he was never charged. His response to this? That night he worshipped God. Whilst worshipping he noted that many of the problems of the justice system that led to him being there were as a result of the station being under-resourced. When he was released the following day instead of being indignant as a person with no faith would most likely have been, he got some friends together and has started talking about and examining what he can do to help alleviate some of the problem of poor resources in that police station with a view to commencing a movement for change. This is not borne out of anger but out of compassion for those who have a difficult job with no resources (no fuel, no vehicles, no food, wages of < $2 a day etc)...

People like this who act positively because of their faith are a credit to mankind!

Rather, the world would be a better place without self-centred people who can think of nothing and no-one but themselves.

In truth, the biggest thing that the world would be better without is abused power. Power is not in itself bad as it is needed to govern, but abused power whether abused in the name of selfish gain or misguided delusional beliefs of a 'god' telling you to do something, that is what we could do without.
