Don't get me wrong. I'm not a Trekkie, or anything, but I have to say that sometimes I wish we were more like Vulcans, since the Vulcans manage their emotions so well and they normally operate according to their intellect and sense of reason instead of their emotions.

  1. maybe... lol

  2. Oh, please. You ever try getting a party hopping with a room full of Vulcans?

  3. No. The span in which Vulcans need to mate was far too long for me ;)

  4. Egad, no!  Humans are a wonderful mix of brains and heart, I wouldn't give that up for anything.  SOME people do need to get a better hold on their emotions, though.  I guess I should say, I would definitely prefer things the way they are IF everyone on Earth were emotionally stable, as they should be!!

  5. Vulcans are pretty messed up because they repress everything and that's not real control.

I know what you mean though, people don't think with their heads but with emotion usually and that doesn't make for the best decisions.

  6. Closet Trekkie(just kidding).  Logic would agree with you to an extent.  However, Vulcans are not as in control as you think.  They spent thousands of years to "purge" their emotions.  Yet, they still face many problems that could be more threatening than a case of the blues.  When they lose it, they lose.  Most importantly, they go seven long years without s*x.  Pong Far is not pleasant.  When they do not get any they go nuts.  Plus, emotions can be good in they can warn us or protect us.  They let us go beyond logic.  I am a philosopher and I love logic, but even I know that it can only get you so far.  We would do better to control our emotions than suppress them.  Live long and prosper.

  7. A world devoid of emotion would be a very dull place. While it is true that emotions lead to some of our greatest failings, they are also the source of our greatest joys. I mean can you really imagine a world where love and joy are completely bottled up? I accept the bad as a consequence because it is out-weighed entirely by the good.
