Would we have all the bells and whistles of a modern world including invention, discovery and innovation if we never allowed money to make money as in credit and interest?

  1. Recall how Jesus expelled the money lenders from the Temple? He detested the gluttony and exploitation displayed by  the money lenders. The temples are extant to this day; they are the buildings lining Wall Street and similar temples found throughout the world. But enough for proselytizing. The indiscriminate  activity of home mortgage lenders-loans given to financially unqualified borrowers. And the apparent rescue of same with (the people's) federal funds is  due to the absence of proscription tendered by those responsible  federal agencies.Needless to say, that those elected  politicians who sit on national committees having jurisdiction over our modern era "money lenders of the temples" are delinquent in their responsibilities or worse- benefiting  from these nefarious activities.

  2. I don't think we would.  The drive to better your life and your family's lives pushes us to do better and bigger things. And to make money.
