Would the yankees be ahead of red sox if Wang wasn't injured?

Wang was 8-2 or something like that in the beginning of the season. He was one of the best in the MLB. Then he gets injured and the Yanks go downhill. with the Yanks bearly behind the sox, Wang would have made us 2nd in AL east, right???

I would want to think positive & say yes but nobody really knows what really would have happened & I am happy the Yankees are playing good baseball now & I don't worry about what might have happened

I don't think one pitcher would've caused the Yankees to be a whole lot better.

It's not like the Yankees were in first or second place before Wang got hurt. They are actually playing a little bit better right now then they were when Wang was here. Wang gettting hurt doesn't help the Yanks in the long run but I think that they would still pretty much be in the same place. Besides, a lot of games they have lost was due to their inconsistent hitting not their pitching.

Maybe but we will never know. In a way I do not believe we would be ahead of the red sox's because we need everyone in the batting line up or at least every person but one or two players to produce when hitting. I'm not really sure but we could have had a chance.

If you think Rasner would do a better job than Wang than your nuts.. I really think they should be tied or much closer to the redsox and devil rays if wang was here.

No, alot of pitchers start off hot, and their bullpen is bad.  Would they be closer?  Maybe, but you can not say they would have been ahead.

no they wouldnt. the yankees have alot more probs than just wang being injured. the yankees are getting older. damon, giambi, arod, jeter, posada are all in their 30's. w/ mussina and the roid using pettite thats not looking good. now granted if the yankees can continue to draft well and get production from the guys they are looking towards the future w/ ( cano, cabrera, chamberlain, hughes, rasnor etc) they may have some hope. the yankees need to hire someone out of the devilr rays scouting dept and the a's scouting dept cuz every single year it seems they have kids come up to the big leagues that are really good. expect the yankees to miss the playoffs. question is does the young  "boss" blow up the team and rebuild or give it one more year?

Probably not...you can't really predict what a guy will do...besides what do "what ifs" really matter? What if the Ortiz was healthy the whole year? What if the Sox bullpen hadn't blown all those games? What if the Tigers offense lived up to expectations? Every team has those "what ifs"...the bottom line is, in the A.L. East, the Rays are number one, the Sox are number two, and the Yankees are number three...all the "what ifs" in the world won't change that fact.

The Yankees were worse than they are now with him pitching.  He had some bad starts before going down too.

the yanks have drastically improved since wang went down actually..they were a sub .500 team at that point during interleague play..now they are 4.5 back of the rays for first place..whether or not him being in the rotation wouldve helped is questionable..ponson has come in and, for lack of a better word, beasted the competition he has faced..the rest of the bullpen has stepped up since then, and the team is playing the best they have been

wang's injury might have been the fuel that sparked the yanks turnaround

I dont think they would be ahead of the sox but it would bring them a lot closer. I wish Wang didnt get hurt because they need him.
