Question:

Would there be a blood pressure machine on a cruise?

My doctor wants me to keep track of my blood pressure every single day for the next 2 weeks. Only problem is, I'm going on a Royal Carribean Cruise. Does anyone know if there is a medical office or anything like that on a cruise where I could check my blood pressure?

  1. The ship should have a doctor, and probably a nurse or two as well.  I'm sure he/she will be happy to take your blood pressure.

If you can't do that, I suggest an automatic wrist cuff; you can get one in most drugstores for $50 bucks or so.

  2. There is almost always a medical office on a passenger ship, so they would be able to do that for you.  However, be prepared to pay for that service!  Why not go to your local pharmacy and purchase the blood pressure tester and take it with you?  The pharmacist will be able to recommend the best one for you, and probably even show you how to use it.  They're not expensive, and you would then have it on hand for home use and for all travel.
