now lets imagine that there was never the Moon. so it never existed. would we have the world as it is today? would there be any animals or human beings?

  1. Interesting question.  life would probably have developed, but whether land-based life would have developed in the same way, or as quickly, in the absence of large scale tides is a point to ponder.  I think periodic exposure in tidal flats led to plants and animals developing mechanisms to protect against exposure, hastening land life development.


  2. No. The world would be quite different. I'm not very sure what would happen, though. I just know it wouldn't be the same.
