I would like somebody to give me a picture of the perfect climate is, and please don't say that climate is the one were used to. Change is inevidable with or without the help of men. Honestly, would it be easier to adapt to a warmer or cooler climate? History has consistently shown it is going to go one way or the other. What makes us think we can stabilize it?

  1. Well somebody sure has a rant going.

The Perfect Climate is one that is Stable.  where ever you are.

if you have 4 seasons, then they should be about the same year after year.

if you live in the tropics....guess what....its rainy season and dry season....

Humans fear change more than anything else.  Even if it is slight.  Scientists (and Im one) love to look for trends.  It means there is something interesting to study.  We love to predict the future or seem to.  If there were no change,,,I doubt there would be many scientists needed.  We'd just look it up on those stone tables our parents kept for us.

  2. There is no perfect climate, however, natural climate change will always be slow enough for the earth to adjust.  By slow, I am talking a few degrees over thousands of years.  This is slow enough for species to either evolve or die out and be replaced by new species better suited to the new climate.

Man-made global warming is too fast for nature to keep up.  Furthermore, we will have more of a problem with climate change than in the past.  If the land the dinosaurs lived on got flooded, they could just move somewhere else.  But try telling that to the victims of floods.

  3. There you go, like so many other people, comparing oranges to apples.

I think the perfect climate is somewhere the yearly temperature range is 100'F to -20'F.

The sunny days with low humidity happen at least five to one to the rainy foggy days. There is enough snow for christmas and the ocean warms up enough to swim in( with no dangers, like sharks and the such), and there has to be enough work and low crime rate and no over crowding of the population where the locals are not over run by immigrants from other countries where they try their best to over-populate the planet.

Oh by the way, no, we will never control any of the things I just said. But we as a living wave of organisms washing over this planet has changed this planet and evereything on its surface and under. We have wiped out half of all the fishes in the sea, cut down half of all the trees on this beautiful blue planet, and yes, we have contributed to the average yearly temperature of the atmophere.Consider for a moment, this:

you, as we all,are a consumer wanting more of everything.

Now look at this and tell me we are not affecting the climate,

    1954-pop. China-594,724,644  P.-2008-1,330,044,005

    1954-pop. India - 396,850,768 P.- 2008-1,147,995,898

    1954- pop Bangladesh-45,603,271,-08 -153,546,901

    54-Indonesia pop-88,753,893 pop -2008 --237,512,355

    1954-pop Nigeria-34,626,706  pop-08-138,283,240

In 1954 Canada was rated 30th for pop with 15+ million

50 years later she doubled her pop to 33 milion and DROPPED seven places on the list.

yes we are affecting everything.. but it only takes one small asteroid to even the score,eh?

  4. There is no definition of a perfect climate. That's why we can't even say global warming is bad (if, of course, it even exists). But the current climate is the one that nature is adapted to, so current life works best with current temperature.
