What are the pros and cons? Who legalizes drugs? What are the reasons we don't legalize drugs in the United States? Why don't we make it so anyone can just go on their computer and buy their drugs? What are the health hazards? At what age should any drug be legal for you? Give me some sources please and thank you. No foul language or explicit words please.

  1. They are not legal because we have violated the Constitution.  We are no longer a free country.  Our Government should protect every ones Liberty, even if some people choose to use that Liberty to use drugs and/or ruin their body.  There is good argument that the age of suffrage should be 18.  Drugs should be regulated like alcohol.  As with any drug there are health hazards.  There are similar health hazards with eating as much as you want and not exercising.  Education is the answer not Criminalization.  Let educated adults make their own choices, there will certainly still be consequences.  Employers can still require individuals to remain sober on the job, wither the drugs are legal or not.

  2. I can't support the use of drugs, but if it were legalized like liquor with strict rules against selling to minors, it would take the profit out of the kind of drug trade we have now and there might be less incentive to getting children addicted.  Maybe the sale should require the seller to be a licensed pharmacist or a licensed minister of the gospel.

I think medical marijuana should be legalized.

  3. everyone will die with overdoses

    and will ruin their lives

  4. Would go a long way toward eliminating gang violence short of enforcing our border laws. Would eliminate the need for a huge bureaucracy that is continually fighting a loosing battle and filling up our prison with more than 1% of the population. Not all should be legalized though, not crack, etc. Other countries do it with things like prescriptions. It would help get them off of the street corners where kids buy it.

  5. Well...

Drugs cause bad health affects. Vomiting, nausea, DEATH...

A lot of people would be dead now if they legalized drugs. There shouldn't be an age where you can take in drugs! They are very dangerous no matter what age you are! If drugs were legalized, the drugs would cause people to do terrible things. My neighbor was on heroine and it caused her to rob a bank. It would just be offal if they legalized drugs! In my opinion, they should just get rid of all the drugs.

Drugs change people. It makes them do bad things. It destroys them and takes their life. It's horrible.

  6. A lot of questions rolled into one. You need to split this into several questions and re-post.

Overall, there would be an enormous amount of problems if drugs were legalized. Look at Holland where about 80% of the national budget is spent on caring for the druggies and other drug related problems.

Right now, the U.S. laws have their finger in a very leaky d**e. Remove the finger (laws) and the d**e will break causing a flood of social ills.

The only way most people would be willing to vote for a change would be if the druggies were denied public assistance.  Your choice to become a junkie, don't expect anyone else to pay for your care.

  7. Well it illegal drugs became legal, a bill would be passed by Congress. So ups are that It could control the population of the US. It's sad that we could do it that way but it's possible. Passing drugs could lead to running out. It could also keep more kids out of Juvenal hall. Some downs is obviously drugs kill, not just the person doing them but others around them. Secondly, much younger kids could get into them and we wouldn't be able to help them, and lastly, It could give the US an even worse reputation...

  8. What do you think?  What if we made all drug legal and people would have to be responsible when taking them?  Prescription drugs, like heart medications, too?  What would happen if people prescribed their own drugs without a BASIC education of pharmaceuticals and their usages?

What about people with heart mummers?  Can they take your "illegal drugs"?

How about guns?  What if we made all guns legal and people would have to be responsible when owning them?

How about TNT?  What if we made all TNT legal and people would have to be responsible when owning high explosives?

How about s*x?  What if we made all s*x legal (under age, too) and people would have to be responsible when having s*x?  Do you have children?  Probably not.

Okay, let's look at it this way: What countries have legalized drugs and what socio-economic benefits were bestowed on this country?  Poverty or Wealth?

    What do you think?

    T

  9. you would see an increase in junkies if we just lifted the prohibition on drugs but many responsible drug users can make some very good arguments for it

  10. too hard to regulate all around

  11. Its not legalized because Drugs are the backbone of the US economy. The CIA have been in the drug running business for years and its filtered through fortune 500 companies.

That is the main reason why not legal so the America government can maintain control.

    - no its not wacko conspiracy stuff, there is a heap of evidence and a former police chief who's spoken out.

Here's just one source, their are loads on youtube, just search CIA drug running.

FYI - The war and continued occupation of Afghanistan is largly down to maintaining control of the poppy fields.
