I am turing 16 in two months and I hope on buying one of these cars. (Cost isn't a big problem, so around $25,000)

2007 Saturn Sky

2006 or 07 Ford Mustang

2002 Mercedes C-Class

2008 Pontiac G8

2007 Dodge Charger

Which one of those is the most reliable and would be best for me?

  1. Those are all fine cars (and some of them might be juuust outside of your budget), but what are you really looking for? For myself, I would choose the Saturn Sky (actually, I would choose a different, cheaper car not from the list...).

    Here's a review:

Mercedes - stodgy, but probably the best ride on the list apart from the Sky.

Mustang - pretty, muscular, and sentimental, but not a driver's car.

Pontiac - pseudo-elegant... I've hated them ever since the Knight 2000

Charger - what is this ugly thing supposed to be, anyways?

  2. None of those.  At the age of 16, having just learned to drive, you shouldn't be driving anything remotely like a sports car.

  3. I just turned 17 and my first car is a 1994 Saturn sl1 which cost me 2 grand, which I had to pay for with my own money.

  4. Don't get a big fancy car as your first. Wait a year so you can have experience in case you ever wreck it or anything else.

  5. i always liked the sky but its only a 2seater. the mustang will be a V8? if so get that. the G8 gt isnt bad but its over 25k i think.

  6. I support the fact that you're spoiled if you get a nice car because you have good grades...but besides that go with the Mustang.

  7. go with the mustang.  great looks, great power, and not a pain in the butt or super expensive to work on.

  8. good grades earn you a car?  if i was your mother, i'd show you to a very nice used car lot and say son, one day you will earn this car with your own money.  being from the generation where your parents were the gateway to such freedoms as allowances, sleepovers and group dates, i too had a car purchased by my parents at age 16, a nice hand-me- down of theirs when they were ready to purchase a new-used car of their own.  cars are expensive, car insurance for your age bracket is through the roof.  being a seemingly knowledgeable young man, why don't you look for something simple, a ford focus maybe, or a chevy malibu or something in the normal price bracket.  preferably well broken in and good on gas.  you do not need a mercedes.  i am 26 years old and my dreams of a mercedes are just that, dreams, besides it's your personality that lasts, not your car.  by the time you're my age you'll be on to bigger and better things.  also, buying from a private seller saves you all that wonderful sales tax.  oh, i forgot you have disposable income according to the way your question is worded.  good luck!

  9. the 2002 will not be as cool, but is the better car for you.

  10. Obviously you are spoiled

  11. From your  list I'd rate them:

    Mustang

    Saturn

    Mercedes *

    Pontiac

    Dodge

    * service costs are high

The 'stang is simple mechanically and easy to handle, keep it serviced regularly and avoid "Bullitt"  stunts and it will serve you well.

  12. rich spoiled brat
