  1. I don't know about the others but are u saying that Iverson isn't tough??

Wade and Iverson yes they are very physical players..

Stop hating on Kobe...im not a huhge fan but he is one of the greatest to play the game

  2. A.I WOULD OF STILL BEEN NASTY BECAUSE HAD HE PLAYED IN THAT ERA, HE WOULD OF BEEN KILLING DEFENDERS OFF THE ISO  BUT....HE WOULD OF BEEN INJURED ALOT MORE FORGET BUMPING HIM WITH THE LIKES OF RICK MAHORN, AND BILL LAMBEER THEY WOULD OF SLAMMED A.I. VINCE WOULD BEEN NASTY HE WOULD OF TOOK SPUD WEBB OUT OF THE DUNK CONTEST AND BEEN FLYING ALL OVER THE PLACE, WADE WOULD OF STILL BEEN THE SLASHER THAT HE IS, BUT WOULD OF ALSO HAD HIS BODY BROKE DOWN BY RODMAN, LAMBEER ETC. NASH WOULD OF BEEN ANOTHER  GOOD PG IN A DIFFERENT ERA.

  3. Kobe, Vince, Nash, and T-Mac would suck in the 80's.  They're soft.

Look at John Stockton, in order to survive, he's earned himself the nickname of "The Dirtiest Player in the Game."

The problem with Amare is that his mouth would get him in trouble.

AI would be alright.  He's similar to a cross between Isiah Thomas and Spud Webb.

Wade would be like Dominique Wilkins.

Kobe would suck.  No one would even remember him, cause he ain't going to be playing for the Lakers, that's for sure.  Cause he'd be wanting Kareem to retire, Magic and Worthy traded.  Kobe's not even better than Worthy in terms of talent and skills.  They didn't choke in the Finals!

  4. I agree Kobe would have been crushed in that era. It would be like Playing a better version of our current Celtics team everynight!

  5. AI and Amare would have never made it in the 80's. The rest would have decent seasons. Can't imagaine Nash taking any charges from the Pistons or Wade coming down the lane much!

  6. man i don't know if any of you have actually watched basketball in the 80's you make it sound like they defended players with hockey sticks and spiked bats. yes the 80's were tough... but that mostly came in the playoffs.

i believe all the the players mentioned above would be just as good as they are now. vince would be drexler, but not as good a defender, but more athletic. A.I. would be like nate archibald, but not as good a passer or defender. wade would be similar to no one. at least no one comes to mind. he's not the defender MJ was... he's not the passer magic was... he's got a little mitch richmond build, but is so fast... he's kinda a hybrid of sorts, and again would be fine in the 80's... nash would have no problem in the 80's, mark price, mark jackson, bj armstrong, tim hardaway are just a few softies from that decade that wouldn't be able to guard nash. we already know nash couldn't guard a fence... so it's a moot point. amare would be a shawn kemp clone. minus the defense.

really the biggest difference is that the league has been watered down... rule changes, expansion teams, the mad dash to get H.S. players and international players... and a good portion of them aren't in the league anymore. or are bust wandering from team to team... back then in the 80's teams were about 9 players deep on the bench. these days bench players are starters (Gerald Wallace would not be starting in the 80's... nor would t.j. ford or Darko Milicic). you have more less skilled players getting in today just based off the fact that there is more roster space and more bust players.

are today's player pampered? no doubt in my mind. but they are still basketball players and if the rules never changed it not like these guys wouldn't still be successful.

anyways. i was really trying to answer this question fairly instead of just saying this guys sucks and this guy would be dead from a touch foul in the 80's.

    give me a break.

    thanks for the good question.
