Would these tire fit okay?

Question

I currently have a rare tire size 205/40/15 that no one has in stock. In order to get that size I must order off tirerack.com and pay 85 (includes cost and shipping). I would prefer to purchase two 195/45/15 which is only $50 and put them on the rear and put the best two treads in the front. Instead of purchase one to replace the other. What must I know to make the most intelligent decision. I don't mind sacrificing a little performance.

i would think they should work ok, but if your car is front wheel drive, put the best tires on the front, that,s where your pulling power is at.

speed rating.Other than that the tire will work just fine.A reputable tire shop will answer your greater questions.

that should work but id put the new tires on front. You want your best tread on front for slick road surfaces. Better handling.

  The tire size is close enough to be alright. The problem is getting a store to put two different sizes on your car. I had Sam's club refuse to. So I took two rims to them and had them mount ,balance them and I put them on myself. But yes the sizes are close enough, and looks like worth the change. Good luck.
