Question:

Would this be Safe...?

Alright, well. I was wondering if it would be safe to uninstall a few Sims 2 expansion packs without uninstalling everything for Sims 2. I want to uninstall The Sims 2 Pet, The Sims 2 H&M Fashion Stuff and The Sims 2 Teen Style Stuff. The newest expansion pack I own is The Sims 2 Freetime and will be getting The Sims 2 Apartment Life tomorrow. Will doing this mess up my game? I would probably remove the unwanted expansions with Ad/Remove Programs, is there a different way I should do this? I would just uninstall the full Sims 2 game but I don't want to lose all my Custom Content. Thanks.

  1. as long as you copy your downloads folder to a new location before uninstalling everything, you will not lose custom content.  You should be okay as long as you keep FreeTime, as that is newer that all the packs you want to uninstall.  The only thing that would concern me, is that sims who used to have pets will no longer have them, and that may mess with their relationships or memories.  Any hair, clothes, furniture etc. that came with the uninstalled packs will no longer display correctly.

Back up your user files before installing or un-installing anything!
