Would this be a good dirt bike for me?

Question

Would a Yamaha YZ 125cc or a Honda CR 125cc dirt bike be a good bike for a 150 pound 5 foot 7 inch tall 13 year old? I would be paying half of the money for it.

if your 5' 7" thats way to small of a bike for you

you need a yamaha yz 125 theyre deep in there powerband and provide you with options even in the deepest c**p you get into

theyre generally much more expensive but the frame size is the biggest avalible on a motocross bike, which simply means you wont need a new bike after this          unless of course you want a bigger cc engine

yz 125s are race bred work horses that never give up

the yz model has stayed the same since 1997 which obviously means the designers at yamaha have mastered the beast

she kicks to life easily unlike a honda four stroke and have so much rip they can literaly flip the bike end over end when in second gear and standing up

the typical cost of a yz 125 is around $5500

The Yamaha has been the superior 125 for several years now, but honestly a beginner would not be able to tell the difference. Just get the one that floats your boat.

Id say neither,  if you have actually tried riding a 4 stroke racing bike you would realize why 2 strokes are fading quickly.       Id suggest getting a CRF150R if you can afford it,  but not a crf150F; they are bad due to their horrible power to weight ratio  (mine weighed a wopping 214lbs.).

As I said in your other question to have a look at the 4 stroke 250cc but you are a good size and height for both the yz125cc and the cr125cc but you would also be fine on a crf250r or a kx250f

dont waist your money on a 125.. you wont like the power... go straight to a 250... 4 stroke.. it will have a lot more power.. im 14 and about 5'11  and 145 lbs.. the frame  size is the ssame between a 125 and 250 just the power will be a lot different

Alot of people that are coming off of 80s are going to the 125s for a year to get use to throwing around a big bike...Seems at our local tracks the cr125 is the one there going to......Iam sure you cant go wrong with either one..Depends on what your doing..Trail or track....The 2-strokes are funner to ride.

kx 125... but maybe you'll want the yz125 over the cr
