I own an iPhone 3G from rogers, but i'm sicking of wasting my money on the expensive bill. If i upgraded my phone to basic phone and got a basic plan would i be able to keep my iPhone and would i be able to take the sim card out of this basic phone and put it into my iPhone?

  1. no, that would be a breach of contract, and they would charge you their early termination fee.

now, in a year, you may be able to get out of the data plan (with att in the united states, you can wait 6 months and then cancel a data plan without paying a termination fee).

Rogers is really jacked up, so i wouldnt be surprised that they would charge you the full cost of the iphone (us is $599 for 8gb, $699 for 16gb) plus  an early termination fee if you tried canceling any of your agreement.
