Would this be coming on to strong?

I knew this girl in grade school. She was in my grade but I never really "knew" her. Anyways I recently went on a mission trip through my parish (which is connected to the grade school) for high school students. She went on the mission trip too. On the trip I got to know her a bit better and thought she was interesting but I still don't really "know" her. But I would like to be friends (not necessarily girlfriend/boyfriend) with her.Before the trip however I barely ever talked to her. So I am wondering if me suddenly calling/texting her and asking her to do stuff might come on to strong. I don't know if she even likes me (again not like a boyfriend) at all. What do you think?

It's not coming on too strong at all—you're just calling to ask her to go and do things with you. It's okay to call and text someone, even someone you don't know very well. It's okay, don't worry. Besides, if she gave you her number, she obviously wants you to call her.
