i have a neutered male cat that i found off the streets and gave him a nice home. in the mornings, he meows/cries for food all the time and wakes us up. i figured it's just cuz hes used to be a stray and doesnt want to feel hungry any more. one morning, my BF had a fit of flatulence, cupped it in his hand and waved it over to my wonderful kitty cat. the cat made a yucky face and left in a fit.

in the end, the cat stopped whining for food. essentially, i didnt appreciate this gesture one bit for i wouldnt want hot a** gas waved in my face when i was simply asking for breakfast. this has caused some tension b/t me and my BF. i feel he doesn't respect the cat.

am i wrong? should i consider this animal abuse?

  1. No, are you kidding me. your question made me lose brain cells.

  2. no its not animal abuse but its not nice

  3. It wouldn't be considered animal abuse, just ignorant.

  4. your boyfriend definitely shouldn't have done that, but i'm not sure as i would go so far as to call it animal abuse. make sure he doesn't do it again, though.

  5. Would you feel abused if you boyfriend farted whilst standing in front of you, I don't think so.  This question is ridiculous have you nothing better to ask.

  6. You were trying to be funny, right???

I laughed out loud on that one.

Don't call it abuse, call it negative re-enforcement, it did get the kitty to quit whining.

  7. what a b*****d, i suggest while he sleeps, release your flatulence in his face, its not a bad thing to do it back for the cat, its just karma.
