Would this be haram?

i have been wearing abaya ever since i reverted but now that i am going to start working in an engineering company there is no way i can dress like that but of course i will cover and always wear my hijab, i was thinking of wearing those nice long jacket suites but my friend says it would be haram to not wear my abaya when i go to work cuz its like a hijab. would it be haram, its hard to wear one cuz engineering companies dont just look for education they look for look to cuz you will represent them. one thing for sure i will always wear my hijab and make sure i am covered its just that when i work i wont wear abaya. what do you know if it is haram or not? thanks :)

With honesty sis that still defines your shape, I wouldn't compromise anything, however the choice is yours.

I work with kids etc and still manage to wear my long flowy jilbab and yes I have had issues with people saying why you wearing that etc, but I don't care as I deem to believe obeying Allah (swt) is far more important.

No not at all sis. As long as you are covering and wearing your headscarf properly and wear the loose clothing you are mentioning. Don't worry about it =D

wearing abaya is not halal neither not wearing abaya haram..

one should wear lose and long garments.your body contours shoud not be visible.wearing abaya is not a compulsion...if you want to wear it you may,,but nothing is haram/halal about it.

I think if you wear one of those nice suits that have a long skirt and jacket you will do fine. You can wear that with your hijab and I'm sure you will look both professional and modest.

Look around online - I'm sure you can find professional Muslimah business attire that will fulfill your needs.  May Allah bless you for your concern.

No not at all.

As long as you wear loose modest clothes and a hijab, you should be more than fine.

Niqab, Burqa, Abaya are things YOU choose to wear. They are not compulsory.

Salam for you Salma.I think it is not haram to wear any form of clothes as long as your privy parts are covered from your toes upto your hair breast and neck so the only face and arms can be seen Wearing long jacket suites with hijab is okay..It is not haram .Please discuss it with your boss before you start your job in the company.
