Would this be healthy for my baby?

I am about 2 months pregnant and my husband declined insurance last year because it was too expensive (for him and spouse)and the plan wasn't good. Now he has to wait until next open enrollment next year.I am a part time working 25 hours a week and I full time in school with 6 classes. This is my last semester so classes are intense. My job is giving me the opportunity to enroll for insurance but I have to work at least 32 hours a week. That would mean that between school and work I wouldn't have a day off. The plan is ok and it isn't that expensive but I am afraid that I would put too much stress on me and hurt the baby. Another option is a California program that helps mid- income families but I would have to see if we qualify because we may be over the limit. I don't qualify for medical because of my husband's income. What should I do???

  1. I would take the insurance. Because the semester is almost over and you are early in pregnancy you will be fine. This way you will also have insurance for the baby. Trust me all of those Dr visits in the first year add up.

  2. I worked double shifts as a hostess(40+hrs) with my first and went to cosmetology school(40 hrs). With my second I worked double shifts as a waitress until the night I delivered.  You won't hurt your baby by working and going to school unless you work in a chemical factory. In fact my doctor said my work helped me keep down my weight and my babies were a healthy 8 and 7 pounds. You do what you have to do. In my case I was young and broke so I had to work like that. just remember what those before us did.....Good luck!

  3. check with the program before you make your final move
