I'm getting married next summer and am trying to decide on a wedding car.I want something that is a bit different and funky. My Dad has come up with a great idea. He has a VW camper in bright orange that i thought would be great. Would it be wierd to have this? Also as it is my Dads car, he would be driving it. He won't let anyone else drive it, and there is parking right at the ceremony entrance so he won't have to wander off and park it. Do you think this would be ok?

  1. The Bright Orange VW camper sounds like a great idea.

Suggestion, why not hire a double decker bus to convey all your guest from church to reception?

This has become pop here in London where people can hire an old London Routemaster for the purpose - just brilliant.

Other thing is that once on board there's no escape etc.  Hehe!

    Have a great day. . . . .

  2. Your wedding is about you--do what you want.

But I would say that if your wedding is on the more formal side, skip the funk and go for a classic car.

Also make sure that the parking thing is okay with the venue. You don't want to walk out and realize your ride has been towed.

  3. Dont think it would be odd i know someone who used classic VW beetle convertable as there wedding car for the bride and classic camper for the bridesmaids.

  4. hey, you do what you want for your getaway car and if you think that is "you" then go for it.

I have heard of the wedding party driving off in golf carts, on a tractor and trailor, horse & buggy...so really anything goes. Your guests will remember it and it will be a reminder to not take the day soooo seriously!

  5. This is your wedding and if that would make you and your hubby happy go for it.

  6. I think that sounds cool!!!  You should decorate it with cans and ribbons and a Just Married sign to make it look sort of retro and funky.

My fiance and I are planning to drive off either in his Eclipse convertible or his blue Yamaha "crotch rocket" motorcycle.  Limos are so overrated, anyhow...

  7. I think that's quirky and fun.  It'll make for some cute pictures.  Go for it!

  8. What ever you want....it is your day to do with as you please....I am sure you will look lovely stepping out of the VW camper.....plus it makes your wedding different and memorable....all the very best !!!!!!!

  9. I think that sounds GREAT!!!! would love to see pics!

  10. its not a weird thing at all, where im from in northern ireland theres a company who specialise in diff transport like this.

  11. yeah that would be pretty odd.  especially since it's orange.

  12. its defiantly funky and different!

He wont let you two drive it off down the street at least.  Do you want dad driving you?

Or it could be good if youve had too much to drink!

  13. haha its not very classy for a wedding, but if you are into that sort of stuff, go for it x

  14. lol, that's not weird at all... if you like it, then why not? go for it! haha

  15. It sounds perfect and I'm sure it would thrill your Dad to drive you to the wedding in his cool vehicle.  Make sure to get a lot of pics.  And since its in the family, every anniversary, you can pose in front of it and chronicle your life together in pictures.

  16. Cool.....Go for it, its your wedding and if you like the idea thats all that matters!

  17. as long as both the bride and groom think it is a good idea, then why not. Sounds good to me.

  18. Whatever you wish to ride in that's fine...I think it would be different go for it, plus dad will get a kick out of this.

  19. why not....or a tractor and trailer or a milk float

  20. Its your day, you have what you want. You will defiantly stand out.

    Congratulations

  21. Do wahtever you want....it is your wedding and should reflect who you and your husband are.  If you are funky like that, go for it.   A friend of my dad owns a old fire truck, and he gets request all the time for weddings.  Some people think it is weird or over the top, but the couples who do it always remember it.

  22. very odd

  23. Why not, at least there will be room in there for you and your dress.

  24. don´t worry be happy!
