Is telling the man you're in love with that he's very special to you pursuing him? How?

Is there a way to tell your friend how you feel about him without pursuing him? I want him to know how I feel so that he knows I'm an option when he's ready for a relationship(he's single and wants to do other stuff before settling).

You sound so sweet. Decent guys would love to have someone thinking of them like this. Hopefully your intended is the same. As a guy, I can't offer the same advice as a girl but for what it's worth, I would drop hints about what you want from life & relationships in conversations with him. Nothing wrong with starting a conversation about friends and mentioning that when the time comes, you would like any guy who likes you to take the lead. You could say this without being direct about him but he will know what you like. Also ask yourself why you want him to make the first move. My wife pursued me and I am glad she did. We went out for a few months the she proposed to me! We have been married for 9 happy years. I was glad she was bolder than me as I was too anxious at the time that I might spoil things. All the best to you - you sound so genuine & I hope he takes you on soon.!
