in my bedroom i have a bright fuscia pink (sp?) carpet and beech wood colour furnature and my bed has a silver frame.

if i were to try and make my room less girly by having black acessories like lamps, rugs and bedcovers.. would this make my room look strange? would it be too many colours? also, im not allowed to change my carpet or wood furnature.

  1. I think if you just picked out a few black items, it would look cool. An odd cushion, and a lamp, and maybe a large vase with long black reeds. Add too much black, and you will spoil a good effect.

  2. No, I think black would look pretty cool! It would happen balance all of the fuscia and silver, and would be fine with your wood.  I think the fuscia/silver/wood thing is already a bit much, but the black might balance it out and give you a more grown up feel.  At the same time, a dark color like that is going to visually shrink your room, so try not to use too much of it!

  3. I think that dark or neutral accents help tone down a bight room

  4. dont you think you can have what you want and where you want it ..if you like red walls and pink floors and glass doors you do it ...go on have a whale of time

  5. it should look fine, black and pink go well together, very 80's

  6. yes that would be fine every room should have a little black in it to ground the room or some dark color, and black accessories and class and elegance to pink and wood

  7. No, I think that will be fine. The beech and silver work well together and offset the bright pink and the black, which will contrast nicely. It will be very bold, very modern and, I think, very cool.

  8. Yes, and it wouldn't match at all if you can't change carpet or furniture.
