Would this cable be able to carry a 1080p signal?

Im not sure if all component cables can or can't, but I want to use this for my new Nvidia 8800GT graphics card

  1. All component cables will support 1080p, BUT many consumer devices limit output to component to 1080i.

    That said, the 8800GT has dual DVI outputs, so why use component? You don't say what you are connecting to (e.g. HDTV, projector, LCD Monitor), but you should be able to use a DVI-D cable (See the link for details on recognizing different DVI connectors. The same company has the cables too, but you should have one already if you have an LCD monitor ... or can buy locally).


  2. As far as my personal experience goes I've never come across a component cable that couldn't carry a 1080p signal.

    However, if you can go with HDMI, some say they cannot notice the difference, but I definitely can.
