Question:

Would this color scheme work?

It's for a 12 year old girl's bedroom.

The wall that she faces when sitting at her desk would be a light, light green, the wall that her headboard faces a light lavender, the wall next to that (also the wall she usually faces when waking up) with the small window a very light orange, and the wall that the end of her bed faces with the large window a very light yellow.

The trim and ceiling would both end up being a sort of eggshell color, perhaps softer.

Thanks for everything!

  1. It's really sweet and beautiful. Be sure that they are all light colours. If the colours are too strong, it will come out weird.

  2. Hmm sounds like easter.  Do you think all those colors are necessary.  plus she will be in high school soon the colors might be a deterrent... maybe something more mature.

  3. wow very pretty

  4. Personally I think thats a few too many colors. She might be fine with it now, but in a few years she'll think it looks like easter or a pastel circus. I would suggest using only 2 of those colors (whichever are your favorite) and going with that. You could use the other two colors as accent colors (like for the furniture or accessories and stuff) so you could still get them in.

  5. While the colors are nice individually, painting each wall a different color will make the room look and feel very boxy and disjointed. Can I suggest choosing one color for the bottom of all four walls and adding a chair rail? You could stripe the upper half of the walls with the three other colors. This would really unify the space, while still incorporating all of the colors.

  6. I'm not sure that the four color thing will look right. I would just pick two of the colors. You could paint two of the walls one color and the other two walls the other color or you could paint 3 of the walls one color and have an accent wall with another darker color. I like te trim color idea. Hope she likes it!
