Would this freak you out? And what do you think it was?

Question

When I was younger I was lying in bed and I closed my eyes for about 2 seconds then I opened my eyes and there was a lady staring down at me. She looked really surprised and she was wearing black lipstick and a black beret.

I felt strangely calm :)

Then I blinked and she was gone.

Do you think it was a ghost or spirit?

And have you heard of any similar stories?

I am half a believer and half skeptic. I have seen a ghost in the house I'm renovating. On two occasions, two years apart,  I saw a bright white shape or outline. The other two times I have seen her face. I didn't believe my own eyes, had them checked by my eye doc and then did my research. I ended up finding photos of everyone who lived there and I found her photo. I was wide wide wide awake every time I saw something, also like you said, felt calm and peaceful. Ask your family who this might have been, get right to the historical research. And sure, there are lots of paranormal sites out there. Here is one www.ghostplace.com. You can share stories via message board, post pictures and chat with some believers and some really nutty nuts.

As a skeptic -Could have been night terrors or hallucinations. Were you sick at the time, or very very tired?  Sometimes my eyes have been open. (I'm a sleepwalker) and I'm seeing things sort of projected onto what is really there. Or sometimes I wake up from a nightmare and I can still hear the sounds from the dream even though my eyes are open and I'm awake, it's like my ears are still stuck in the dream and it slowly fades out.

It could have been a lady that watches over you, if you had a "calm feeling." I am not getting anything that says she was evil or anything. I feel it was a deceased relative that was watching over you, that came down to show you that. I feel it was a spirit.

i was just laying there and i swear i saw stuff happens alll the time.

then one time my step mom was in the shower and i was in my room getting ready and someone knocked on my door so i opened it and nobody was there and i could hear her in the shower..so i was like OKAY? and then i have one of those doorbells just for a bedroom and that went off.

it was pretty scary!

It was probably a demon and that demon is probably inside of your soul now, which explains her disappearing after you blinked.

In short, you're going to explode and maggots are going to fall out of your body.

It could have been a ghost, it could have been your imagination. You almost certainly will never know, sadly that's the way with these things.

There are plenty of websites out there that might help, such as www.ghostplace.com. They tend to be sympathetic to such stories and will almost certainly be happy to tell you the possible causes.

I think your eyes were starting to adjust to the lighting, and you thought you saw something.

ive had many experiances. especially with knocking and a man walking in front of my door and going into my room or my sis's room and looking into my room. i was home alone and all of a sudden there was three knocks coming from the computer room which is where all my grandmas and aunts stuff is. then one day my room was closed and i heard o knock on my door. i went to see if it was someone and no one was there. then in my old house i looked out into the hallway and i wa son the top bunk and there was an old man with an axe chopping something and he looked at me and i blinked and he was gone.

Loads of people share their supernatural experiences and many stories are just like yours- awaking to see a spirit at the foot of the bed or walking down the hall. Some people feel very uneasy or sick while some feel peaceful and relaxed after the experience. Do some history on where you live- maybe your home has some ghostly history and you can figure out who this woman was. Of course, sometimes its just a waking dream where the person thinks they are awake but are still asleep. In either case, do some research. No one knows for sure what happens after you die, so if the other side has decided to contact you, it could be an enlightening experience. Good luck!

did she seem to have a bright white light behind her? Was she smiling?Did you feel like she was fimilar to you allthough you didnt know her? If all thats the case it could have been a guardian spirit, they basically are spirits that protect people who have a gift or are meant for a good future or have the potential to, there are some humans alive that are guardians and just naturally look after people and know who needs them and some are re-born others stay as guardian spirits, the spirits are most likely to look after family members so this could be the case here, thats i'm getting from this anyway i think it could have been a guardian.

Hard to tell for sure at times because basically ghost are spirits. spirits are know to float like that, although they usually don't have detail or face features to see, because they are from a higher dimension, unless they slow down their vibrations enough, then you would be able to see detail, but only for seconds. I know what I says has a lot of truth in it because I have always seen spirits and some ghost, and if not I can feel their presence.

In all them years of different experiences, I only had one come to me for four years long, she came many a times, I seen her wide awake and while asleep as either my third eye opens and she came in my dreams as well to encourage, comfort, teach, guide and help me with my son as she would wake me when he was sick. We have more spirits and or angels than we think around us to help, guide, or protect.

When she came to me at first I was a bit scared because I thought it was a ghost, but once the communication started, I now know more than I once knew or thought.....that some of us have lived a past life, and these spirits are around us to guide, and protect us....I know this for sure....not many people can say they have a four year long experiences, and communication with a spirit, her name is Erica.

you might have been asleep and you might not have been. there are many things that we do not yet understand or know about our world. i personally always try to keep an open-mind. is it possible that you saw a spirit. yes ,it is possible . did you see one? we'll never know for sure.

I think it could be either. When I was little I woke up at like 4:00AM Christmas morning. I opened my eyes and there was a skinny girl sitting at the foot of my bed. Then I saw a boy with a pony tail playing a video game. I blinked again and the whole room was in reverse. After 5 minutes of staring at these people I finally fell back asleep. But nothing happened after that day so, I wouldn't worry. Hope this helps!

That would definitely creep me out!  But I'm a big baby with it comes to ghosts.  

The ghost or spirit could have been there to calm you at the time.  

My boyfriend brother seen a naked woman sitting on the edge of a bed across from him at their camp before.  He said she didn;t do anything, she just sat there, for a long time though.  haha He hid under the covers and kept looking out to she if she was gone.
