Question:

Would this little thing bother you?

So, your spouse doesn't generally cling on to a lot of sentimental material things; just a few pics of the kids, etc; but when looking for an old photo you notice their little box of precious things includes last year's birthday card and 'sorry' card from their opposite-s*x best friend. Is it something or nothing?

  1. You were looking for something other than a photo....sounds to me like you don't trust him.  Don't ask us.....you should be talking to your husband.  Coming on here gives you to many preconceived idea's before you even talk to him. Get off the computer and ask him!

  2. Honestly, it would bother me a lot.  My husband and I already have some trust issues in our relationship, and I think that would push me farther into the deep end.

You could ask him about it, but only if you want to.

  3. Shame on you for going through their personal stuff!  This is nothing.  Let it go.

  4. Yeah, that would bother me. Mainly because when you're married the only opposite-s*x best friend your spouse should have is you!

  5. Hmm.. here's the thing.

Married people should NOT have personal relationships with people of the opposite s*x -- it's not cool.

Right on Val, I'm my husband's only opposite s*x friend as well I should be!!

My husband and I do feel though that in a marriage, there is no such thing as "privacy."  We don't do the whole "That's my stuff stop snooping!" thing.. it's just not us.  I don't care what my husband was looking at of mine, it wouldn't be snooping or an invasion of privacy, we're married.

To answer your question, though -- yes, I think it's something.  It's pretty messed up that he has a female best friend, and I also think that he's keeping things from her and not you that's definitely not a good sign.  I'd ask him about it?

    Good luck.

  6. You weren't "looking for an old photo"...YOU were SNOOPING...admit it!

By the way, the only "opposite s*x best friend" my husband has is ME!

    WTF!

  7. maybe but maybe not! that friend could just mean a lot to him as a friend. but they could also mean that he has some feelings for this person and it could have some other value in his eyes hard to tell need some more information to be able to really say for sure.

  8. Its nothing at all.

  9. Yes it would bother me too. I say that men and women cant be just pure friends only unless the guy is g*y.
