I'm getting a "new" truck so i was thinking of rearranging my sound system( i currently have it on another truck that im planning to sell). So i was thinking of putting the sub like the ones on the link.

Would this make a difference in power? Do you think it looks cool? I was also wondering if i have to reverse the wires(i heard of this not sure if its true)? If i set it up in that way how big does the box have to be? Its a single 1800wtts peak sub.

  1. mhmm your makeing a fire chamber. well... personal experiance ya.. it does make more sound and it looks cool cos it loko complicated and diffrent , all the people that dont know jake bout that kidna stuff will be like WTF.. THIS IS WEIRDLY AROUSING!

  2. for performance, you are better off puting the sub the right way.

placing the magnet on the outside of the box is just for showing off. but for sound, having the magnet inside the box will sound much better.

and yes, if you do place the subs like in the picture, you will have to reverse the signal. some stereos have this setting, some amps allow you to change it too by an option called "Phase". what this does is reverse the sound wave so instead of having the subwoofer cone move out, it moves in and the other way around.

or you can just connect the all the +'s from the subs to the - on the amp. and all the -'s on the subs to the + on the amp.

as far as box size, that all depends on the specific model of the subwoofer(s) and what type of box you want to do. for that, check the specs on the subwoofers and their recommendations.

btw, never look at peak/max power. only rms is what really matters. those subs are probably 800-900 watts rms.

  3. I'm only going to answer one question.  "Do you think it looks cool?"  No, I do not.  :)

What is the brand/model of the sub you will be doing this with?
