Would this make the video quality bad...?

on netflix you can watch movies directly on ur computer without waiting for the DVD, you just stream the movie. and i dont wanna wait for the DVD so im just gonna stream it on the laptop and connect the laptop to my tv so i can just watch it on the tv. would the quality of the movie be bad on my TV if i do this?

  1. If you wait for the DVD, you get DVD quality. I have yet to see a video stream on the internet that could come anywhere close to DVD quality, unless you are viewing it on a miniature monitor. The typical video stream will come at about 1/4 the resolution of DVD. It won't look THAT bad on a 19" monitor, but if you put it straight to a decent sized TV, it will look terrible. If you download the stream, you may be able to transcode it and improve the quality. I've downloaded dozens of TV shows (AVI or DiVX) transcoded them (to MPEG4) and burned them to DVD, and I couldn't tell the difference most of the time.


  2. depends on your computer, ram, mostly your video card and speed of your internet and compared to a regular dvd player then i would say it would hurt the signal
