Would this setup work? And would I get the most out of my 6x9's?

I know nothing about car audio, I have a 4x40w Vibrant head unit. I have just installed two Fusion 6x9" 260w speakers. The speakers sounded awesome and bassy at the shop, they sound tinny in my car. Have I installed it wrong? Do I need a more powerful head unit? What amp should I use if needed?? Please help! lol

IF YOU INSTALLED THE SPEAKERS MAKE SURE THE SPEAKERS ARE WIRED PROPERLY,THE POSTIVE SPEAKER WIRE GOES ON THE LARGER SIZED CONNECTOR ON THE SPEAKER AND THE GROUND WIRE USUALLY HAS A STRIPE ON IT ,IT CONNECTS TO THE SMALLER CONNECTOR ON THE SPEAKER,IF U USE A AMP GO WITH A 100 WATT  AMP
