Question:

Would this work to get me a new camera?

I bought a camera from BestBuy in feb. Last week I was running and it fell out of my camera pouch [I forgot to zip it] and broke. It still turned on but that was pretty much it. I couldn't take any pictures or anything. It broke open and I had to pop it back together.

I was thinking can I go to BestBuy buy the exact camera and switch the new one for the old one and go back to the store get a refund. So I pretty much get a new camera. Can I do that? or does the camera have some sort of serial number or something and they'll know it's not the one I just bought.

By the way...how much would it cost to fix mine if my plan doesn't work?

  1. Great idea if you want to be a thief. Yes, a common thief. No better than a shoplifter. What you want to do is called theft by deception. If you're caught (and you will be) the store could press charges. Your parents will be so proud of you when they come to juvie hall to get you out.

Just buy a new camera. Repairs, if possible, will cost you almost as much as a new camera.

  2. Unless the return person at BestBuy is a total idiot, I doubt it. A repair would cost you at least 100.00 plus.

  3. You are asking how to break the law.  I reported your question.  Other answerers, feel free to report it, so it will get pulled quickly.

Have a nice day robbing banks or whatever.

  4. I think more than your camera fell, sounds like you must have gotten a hard knock to the head.

Remember that what goes around comes around and if you do something like this then you will pay for it down the line...

  5. Ironic question considering your s/n!

  6. Why should best buy pay for your mistake?  I agree with the others, that would make you a thief.
