Would this work to make a block of flats on sims 2?

Okay right. So on the Sims 2 i spent ages builting a block of flats. All the front doors to the flats are dorm doors, and then i used the cheat to change the lot zone to dorm. Everything was going well. I then selected a sim, and when I clicked on the lot it said "Space Avaliable". I was so happy! I moved her in and she claimed her door and had 20,000 to furnish her new apartment! But there weren't any NPC's moving into the other apartments. Do any of you know what i've done wrong?

Hope you can help as I was so close to creating an apartment block!

well, i looove sims, cant wait for sims3!! anyways i think that u have to move some other sims in, i havent tried it but try moving other sims in yourself

To make a working residential lot you have to have a trash can and a letterbox. You can't buy them but you can download them here: http://daydream.etowns.net

I really hope this works for you. You sound like you've done a lot of work.
