.....contribute to society ?

As there isn't the jobs to go around for everyone would those who are lucky enough to work be willing to help these people contribute to society.

You would simply share your job & split your wages 50/50 and we could cut the unemployment figures in half overnight, even with a 50/50 split for full time employment, you would still be above the benefit rate of what these people have to live on every week, if they can manage to live on it so can everyone right ? & everyone would be happy everyone is contributing.......

  1. There are enough jobs out there for people that want them, but some people dont wanna work as cleaners or in mcdonalds, some people who have no reason not to work should have there benefits stopped and then theyd have to get a job.

  2. No i would not. There is allot of people out there that cant find work and that is because they don't want to.

  3. This system has been tried before...it was called communism & it doesn't work.........

    Unemployment is not working, either.

  4. There are plenty of jobs to go round, its just a lot of lazy people think that every job below Prime Minister is too low for them even to contemplate.  There are some people who do find it hard to find work, this could partly be due to gaps in their cv, anything (even cleaning toilets in cinemas) looks better than a gap on your cv to employers.

  5. What employer would give these scrounges a job anyway?...Most of them can't spell their name or speak without the aid of a mobile phone(txt)......

  6. ludicrous idea.

would you be the first to do so?

  7. I would but most wouldn't be able to do my job and secondly every week there are literally hundreds of jobs in the paper that almost anyone (who isn't clinically brain-dead) can do.

It's not hard to find work. Shower, shave, put on some deodorant and borrow or buy something smart to wear. Then apply!

    It's very, very, very simple.

edit - I've lived in a country with a high unemployment rate and there are NO jobs in the paper. Trust me, Britain does not have this problem. If the number of jobless exceeded the number of jobs available there would be no jobs in the papers. Secondly, you wouldn't have Eastern Europeans coming over here and finding jobs right off the bat.

The difference, they work hard for what they want and they are eager. Jobless scroungers are not eager enough - they have it way too easy on the dole.

Sorry but it's the truth. If they cut off the dole from these people, they would soon be eager to work - and they would soon have jobs.

  8. There are plenty of jobs to go around it's just that a lot of people consider themselves to be above some times of work and then complain because they cannot find anything.

I work my *ss off all week and I barely get by on the wages, job sharing is a rediculous idea.

  9. No, I wouldn't job share because I have worked really, really hard to get where I am and I deserve my job.  Why should have have to share with any old joe who claims they can't find work anywhere else?

I am sure there are certain people who find it hard to find jobs in a specific sector, but there are always jobs around that anyone could do.

No offence to people that work in Macdonalds but I wouldn't want to work in there, but if I was out of work and had trouble finding the job I want, I would take what I could get and then keep looking for a job better suited to me.

There are plenty of jobs in the UK but many people think working in low paid service jobs is beneath them, so they would rather claim benefits.  There is no excuse for a healthy British adult not to have a job.

  10.   That is an absolutely killer question.Star coming your way!!!!!!

  11. Of course people would not be happy. Especially with the credit crunch at the moment. There is not enough money to go around so the idea of splitting wages in half, at the moment, would be ridiculous. Although there is a lot of judgement towards the unemployed surely it would be better than resentment to those who are taking half of their wages.

If prices off everyday bills reduced this would be a brilliant idea but I cannot see this happening anytime in the near future.

    Excellent idea though!

  12. There are no shortage of jobs and even if there was a shortage I wouldn't mind contributing to support people out of work if they did voluntary work instead. The fact is that there is a core of workshy lazy people who will take but never give and tehy don't deserbe anything in my book!

  13. Give me a break! I no longer work on minimum wage, but a few years ago when I did, I had no problem getting a job. In bars, shops, call centres. 1 interview, got the job. No problem. Even without experience. And this is in different cities, both North and South.

Don't give me that cr*p that they can't find jobs. They can. But they can't be arsed. They think minimum wage jobs are below them. And they call themselves working class?

    They are the underclasses.

  14. good question, the reality is there are enough jobs to go round but some people dont want to work for too low wages, therefore, its about making society less consumerist so that we dont feel that we 'need' extra money and would be able to afford the basics in life, a roof over our heads, heating, transport and food. all these things are too expensive

  15. Yes, everyone should have the right to work.
