Would throwing some 10-10-10 fertilizer around newly planted vines be too much for them in July weather?

threw a handful of fertilizer around the newly planted climbing hydrangeas that I planted as well as clematis and trumpet vines.

will this be too much if I water them every day?

why and how so?

  1. plants don't need fertilizers until they've gotten sustaining roots in place.... the first roots can be 'burned' by fertilizers... if the first roots don't get going, there won't be a happy plant up above.... liquid fertilizers were already in potted plants bought from nursery... plenty to hold them till they get situated in the new place.....
