Would throwing some 10-10-10 fertilizer around newly planted vines be too much for them in July weather?

Question

threw a handful of fertilizer around the newly planted climbing hydrangeas that I planted as well as clematis and trumpet vines.

will this be too much if I water them every day?

why and how so?

btw, I am in zone 6

plants don't need fertilizers until they've gotten sustaining roots in place.... the first roots can be 'burned' by fertilizers... if the first roots don't get going, there won't be a happy plant up above.... liquid fertilizers were already in potted plants bought from nursery... plenty to hold them till they get situated in the new place.....
