Would towing this car get me a ticket?

Is it illegal in Texas, specifically Fort Worth, to tow a car with a tow rope??

  1. Cannot answer about Texas state laws but, If you do tow, go to Wal Mart and buy a tow rope made for towing in the auto section. Never use a chain or cable (wire rope). They will damage both cars.


  2. If you place a sign in the rear window that says "vehicle in tow" and make sure that the brake lights are visible I think it would be legal. I also think you must use something more stable than a rope so that the towed vehicle doesn't swerve.

  3. I'm not the smartest person when it comes to auto repair. Last year I had some problems with my Chevrolet Astro and I wasn't sure how to fix them. I tried to search the web for tips, but the procedures were way too difficult for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they've seen all sorts of situations (car insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me.
