I went to Spain when I was a baby and remember nothing, but my parents said the people were jerks, they eat disgusting food, and there really isn't much to do. I was considering going for college abroad and was discomforted by these things a little.

  1. well you will never know until you go try it for yourself..everyone has thier own opinion about places so the only way to know is go for yourself.

  2. dont listen 2 ur parentals! only you can make the decision weather you like spain or not. i would kill 2 go 2 spain but cant affiord it! take the chance while you can

  3. Never been there but I'd love to go. Maybe it was your parents that made the whole experience terrible with a bad (and pretty American) attitude. I don't know, I'm sure your parents are great but there might have been a culture clash, the culture down there is a bit different after all.

Do some research first but don't let your parents stop you if you want to go!

  4. I dont think its that bad, its a contemporary developed western european country. But I bet Italy might be more fun and hospitable

  5. no way, its one of the best countries in Europe to visit..The Spanish are always friendly and like to party.....

If I took my parents advice on food, I would never have left home and would still be eating my steak welldone..When I cook for them these days I always get the turnedup nose initially, but then they actually enjoy the meal once they get their head around eating something different...life is for living, get your own experiences and enjoy it..

  6. Depends which city. On the whole though Spain is a great country, the food is wonderful, and the people are really friendly. I guess your parents had a bad experience. Or is it that they just don't want you to go so far away? Good luck anyway.
